Our club started 2005 under “Deaf 4 x 4” and then 2008 changed the club name to “South Island Deaf 4 x 4 Club”. Our club is under the Deaf Society of Canterbury and New Zealand Four Wheel Driving Assn (NZFWD). We have 10 or more members and we also have 4 x 4 trips especially in the long weekend. Eg. Queen’s birthday, Labour Weekend, Show Weekend and Xmas holiday. The committees organised a trip and its good experience learning different grades driving 4 x 4. We also join the hearing 4 x 4 club having and wild mud fun too. While out on any 4 x 4 trips, enjoying the scenery of forest, lakes, views of mountains. Also we always have a nice picnic or dinner out in the scenery as it’s so beautiful and amazing.
